Perugia

Perugia, a flat-woven tapestry hanging designed by Märta Måås-Fjetterström for Malmö Museum in 1927.

Märta Måås-Fjetterström made several trips to Italy, including to the mountain town of Perugia, built from volcanic stone. The town is interpreted in wool in the flat-woven tapestry.

Here, Märta Måås-Fjetterström made the greatest possible use of the flat weaving technique, and wrote: “The link between technique and form must never be broken!”.
