“I am an animator and a film maker. My work is centred around storytelling through images, and different ways of experimenting with the language and readability of the image. My studies in drawing have been focused on how images are often placed in relation to, or in subordination to, a text. In my search for the imagery’s own communication possibilities and independence, I began to move closer to moving images. Animation is a relatively young form of art and still evolving, the animator’s role is still unformulated and fluid. […]
Technological development, and the democratisation and dissemination of tools required for animation, are now making this technique more accessible – which is helping to spread animation across more latitudes and into related fields, such as drawing, graphic arts and illustration.
I see my work in relation to this direction and am exploring how these possibilities could lead to a freer and more artistic approach […].”
Minna holds a degree from the University College of Arts, Crafts and Design (Konstfack) in Stockholm. She also studied Animation and Moving Graphics at Konstfack, Picture Books for Children at the Academy of Design and Crafts (Högskolan för design och konsthantverk) in Gothenburg, and Graphic Arts at Nyckelviksskolan in Stockholm.
